The Celestial Event of the Century! Coming August 2017. Join us for a "Solar Eclipse Viewing Party" - August 21, 2017. Bring your blankets, a picnic lunch and settle in before the eclipse starts at 11:40 am. The eclipse will reach its maximum at 1:09 pm and complete at 2:39 pm. The Seagoville Library has received Eclipse Viewing Glasses and Education Kits from the State Science Institute. The viewing glasses will be distributed in the Seagoville Community while supplies last. In preparation for this historic event, Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm, the Seagoville Public Library will present "Solar Eclipse: Safe Viewing Practices" and details for "What Really Happens During a Solar Eclipse" programs for the Seagoville Community.

June 16th 10:30 a.m.  Bird watching program at The John Bunker Sands Wetlands Center. (Preregistration required) 

June 23rd 10:30 a.m.  Professor Brainius in council chambers. 

June 30th 10:30 a.m. Public safety program presented by The Seagoville Police and Fire Departments in council chambers with a tour of public safety vehicles.

July 6th 10:30 a.m.  Medieval Times knight visit in council chambers.

July 14th  10:30 a.m.  Splash party at Bruce Central Park.  

Reading Contest Logs will be due on August 1, 2017  by 7:00 pm

Try these databases filled with magazine articles, encyclopedia entries, and other materials to help you discover more on any subject, from general interest to business, hobbies, and more. Please see your librarian for a user name and password.


       The Puzzler's Exchange

Do you love jigsaw puzzles? If so, it's free and easy to participate in the Puzzler's Exchange.

Puzzles to be exchanged.....

  • Should be in their original box/package
  • Should be in very gently used condition with no missing pieces
  • Should have all pieces contained in a Ziploc bag
  • Should be "family friendly" images - no obscene words or images, please.
  • Please, no more that three puzzle exchanges per visit.
  • Donations accepted and appreciated during regular business hours even if you do not wish to exchange your puzzle.
  • Please,  no puzzles in the after -hours drop boxes.
